Tried to call your number today 30257530 Out of order, sure I know Don't know why I go here once again Want to tell you I'm doing great and tell you about the pain I’m living my life but I’m missing you on the way If you picked up what would I hear? 30257530

The Fields 03:36
First time I saw you in the fields The way you walk and talk the way you cut things loose The way you walk and talk the tracks you choose You make me heal You reveal what's real You do First time we walked in the haze Tried to fool around to keep in your gaze The way you walk and talk I couldn't cut things loose And then you came around me like you do You make me heal You reveal what's real You do

If I knew you now would I like you like I used to? Would it be the same if I called you? If you knew me now would you treat me like you used to? Would you even like to be rescued? One, two, free fall Shout it out, you never know if you wake up tomorrow Five, six, serenade I don’t care what they say, your love is in my veins If I met you now would you tell me, that I did what I could? Would you tell me what you were thinking? Remember that day you told me: “Try to leave what you can’t change”? I try but It’s hard not to keep you One, two, free fall Shout it out - you never know if you wake up tomorrow Five, six, serenade I don’t care what they say, your love is in my veins If your eyes were still around would you see me now? Would you tell me you were proud? Do you see me now?

I could hide behind my endless windows Looking cool behind the glass While last night is slowly coming back to me like a hallucinated past You know how to make Higher than fire Higher than the sun and moon Rockets and skylines Holding my red balloons You make me feel so high as a kite now Recall you waited till my shoes were moving You always have your timing right Then you kissed my back and told me how you feel and so I disappeared in the night I know how to tease you You know how to make make me Higher than fire Higher than the sun and moon Rockets and skylines Holding my red balloons You make me feel so high as a kite now Rain keeps falling but the drops just pass me by Don’t know how you do it but you make me feel so high as a kite now

Fade In Time 02:44
Don't you know I've been broken just like you? Oh well now you know My closest one she left when I was 22 Oh well now you know When every fucked up memory is running down your cheek You’ll be wasting, falling till you get it right It will break you, haunt you till it fades in time Should have known In a second life can change It's hard to forget Maybe being angry is a necessary part of this But I wasn’t mad at her I spend hours and hours trying to settle with the fact that I I’ll be wasting, falling till I get it right It will break me, haunt me till it fades in time Life bites sometimes and shows you that you’re not always the one in charge You're the master of the carousel but certain things can never be undone And in the end the only thing that we decide is how we paint with black and white
8.
Rest in words, rest in words Ache was like thunder feeding your storm You’re breathing in another world though my love, your love, our love is here with me resting in your words I saw you fading In the end you weren’t you Why do I try to save you after you went away? Rest in words, rest in words Ache was like thunder feeding your storm You’re breathing in another world though my love, your love, our love is here with me resting in your words I saw you fading In the end you weren’t you How much misery before it's ok to pull away?
9.
In The Woods 03:06
Lost my head when I was walking with you Carved our names when I was walking with you In the woods Lost my head when I was walking with you But it wouldn’t have worked if we kept on from then In the woods We were lost in the woods We were lost in us

about

Debut album from Danish art-pop talent GRO

Her first singles, her technically superior live shows and a strong, personal sonic and lyrical universe centered around her emotions dealing with her mother’s suicide have generated a lot of attention and acclaim in her home country. Now GRO is ready with her debut album ‘Columna’ which will be released October 29 on Celebration Records

Behind GRO is musician and producer Julie Møller Christiansen. With her weightless avant-garde pop, she has planted her three letters firmly in the soil of the Danish music scene at rocket speed, having performed at both UHØRT and SPOT Festival. On October 29, her debut album will be released. The album was written during 2019 and 2020, where Julie for periods of time isolated herself in her home studio with LPs and photos from her parents' youth to write songs and process the experience of her mother's suicide.

“They say that you have been able to process something when you can say it with a few words. I have processed something when I can say it with music. I think it's the combination of creating an atmosphere with sounds and being able to turn my thoughts into poetry that is healing. I hope that the music and the fact that I speak openly about what the songs are about can help other people who have lost someone. It has helped me a lot reading other people's stories.”
(Julie, quoted in the Danish magazine Femina)

The album is titled Columna and it contains nine songs, which are instrumented with electronic textures, Julie's weightless vocals and various string instruments from Julie's childhood home, where folk music from the 70s were played a lot on the gramophone and in the parents' youth band. The title Columna is the Latin word for pillar/spine and on the album's tracklist you will find several Latin names and numbers related to the title.

“The songs on Columna reflect on a period of time when, after losing my mother, I had to work on building a foundation/backbone that somehow could make up for the unconditional love and support that she represented. Seeing my mother go through a severe course of disease has got me thinking about a lot of things - of how I can equip myself and my surroundings to be able to handle a life crisis in the best possible way, but also in terms of remembering to prioritize enjoying life and the good things that happen while I still can”, Julie explains.

“One of the best songs of February 2021”

(L.A. blog Grimy Goods on Fade In Time)

"It’s experimental at times for sure, but never loses touch with its innate humanity due to the heartfelt nature of the lyrics and the vocals’ haunting presence." (UK blog Analogue Trash on Fade In Time)

"With her infectious art-pop with airy vocals, harp and personal lyrics, she is one of the most exciting new Danish artists right now."
(Danish magazine GAFFA about GRO)
