The first two singles from the album, Fade In Time and In The Woods. were released during spring 2021. Both singles got airplay on Danish and international radio and In The Woods was placed on Danish magazine Soundvenues’ Top Tracks.
"One of the best songs of February 2021"
(L.A. blog Grimy Goods on Fade In Time)
On September 10 (International Suicide Prevention Day) the single One Two Free Fall will be released. The song is built around Julie's harp and voice and in general the arrangement is bigger and more contrasting than on the first two singles. With the song, Julie wants to stress the importance of de-tabooing suicide by talking more about it and the difficult emotions related to it. In the music video for the song, recordings of Julie and her harp interact with various recordings of tipping water glasses - a symbol of the redemption that conversation can provide, when given space to talk about difficult feelings. With the single, GRO is also releasing a live video featuring an acoustic version of One Two Free Fall played alongside Danish musician GRETA.
"It’s experimental at times for sure, but never loses touch with its innate humanity due to the heartfelt nature of the lyrics and the vocals’ haunting presence." (UK blog Analogue Trash on Fade In Time)
lyrics
If I knew you now would I like you like I used to?
Would it be the same if I called you?
If you knew me now would you treat me like you used to?
Would you even like to be rescued?
One, two, free fall
Shout it out, you never know if you wake up tomorrow
Five, six, serenade
I don’t care what they say, your love is in my veins
If I met you now would you tell me, that I did what I could?
Would you tell me what you were thinking?
Remember that day you told me: “Try to leave what you can’t change”?
I try but It’s hard not to keep you
One, two, free fall
Shout it out, you never know if you wake up tomorrow
Five, six, serenade
I don’t care what they say, your love is in my veins
If your eyes were still around would you see me now?
Would you tell me you were proud?
Do you see me now?
