GRO releases rave-pop lovesong that celebrates imperfect relationships
Musician and producer GRO is ready with the title track from her upcoming album Better Be Yours. An album she wrote with her ex-boyfriend Mads Kinnerup during the time after their breakup. With its raving synthesizers, acid basslines and infectious vocals, Better Be Yours is ravepop that celebrates the ups and downs of the relationship.
"Better Be Yours is about daring to believe in love, even if it has been beaten up many times and you have been hurt. It is completely natural to have periods when things are not going well in a relationship, and you need a little pep talk to keep the spirit up, so our intention was to make an energetic rave track that invites the listener to keep the courage and patience when things are not working optimally.”
(Mads and GRO about Better Be Yours)
Better Be Yours will be released on February 3, a week and a half before Valentine's Day. It is the second of a series of singles that will be released as teasers for the album, which will be released during summer 2023.
GRO's debut album Columna from 2021 Columna was also a therapeutic concept album that received wide coverage in Danish media - and resulted in concerts at e.g. GAFFA at Græs og Spot Festival.
Besides her own artist project, GRO is also one of the most exciting Danish female producers right now. She has, among other things, produced the music for Jeanett Albeck's theater performance Ellers Mange Tak and SOLEN ER SEXET's radio single Careless Loins.
Without knowing anything about the background of this song, I thought of an artist like MØ from the beginning of her career. The lyrics are free of clichés and the atmosphere is loose, confident and raw.

lyrics
Wherever I go
Oh baby darling you’re going to be there
Want to get it but I lost control
Kiss and hug and regret but I won’t forget
Yea yea but I better be yours better be yours
Make me look up
Yea say that I better be yours better be yours
I’m your fool and I won't give up
If I only could
Oh baby darling I’d make it forever
Want to get it but I lost control
Kiss and hug and forget could we take it back?
Yea yea but I better be yours better be yours
Make me look up
Yea say that I better be yours better be yours
I’m your fool and I won't give up
